That is an easy one Chef
On entering BZ you need to buy their insurance at 13 BZ Dollars per day
So if you insist you could pay 39BZD for three days but if you are smart you will buy it for a week and pay only 29BZD
Otherwise it will cost you nothing to get IN to Belize.... but it
will cost you 37.50 BZD to get OUT.
That is , Belize levies a 30BZD tourist tax and a 7.50BZD Eco- fee
on each tourist at the time they leave Belize. These fees are the same no matter how long you were in Belize.and remember that they must be paid in BelizeDollars

For future riders, entering Belize from Guatemala...
We bought insurance 100m past the belize border at the white house on the right. It cost us 20BZD for 3 days.
Also fumigation is only 5BZD (the guy asked us for more and took a bit of convincing. Luckliy we knew the price).

insurance
The 'insurance houses' are about 100m on the right after the border, as jcordukes wrote. But, each little house quotes for different insurance companies. I received quotes from 3, and each offered different cover, like duration.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
