I don't have any personal experience overstaying in Mexico, but I do in other Latin American countries. I'd recommend not doing it because you may end up with an enormous number of problems. It's always easier to get an extension while you still have time left - once you've overstayed, then a tiresome extension process can become a nightmare. Also, consider whether your insurance policy will expire, too.
