Riding to Central America March 1st. Wanna GO!!

I have been trying to post my desire to get some other riders to go down to Central America approximately March 1, 2016. I have gotten some interest from some riders and am trying to get an Email list together to share interests, ideas and others things. I have a Facebook page of Life Of An Adventurer and am posting on multiple forums and websites to get interest. This is also where you could put up info and all the other things to have a centralized location that people could go to.

I am an American that splits my time between Los Angeles, Phoenix and Leon, Guanajuato. I could meet you in my town of Leon, Guanajuato or on the way down. I plan on both camping and staying in off the beaten path hotels.

I have done riding in Mexico but have never ventured on bikes in Central America. Please let me know if there is any interest out there to join up together.

Have a great day and be safe!
Mark

Thumbs up Travelling from San Fran to Panama end of May

Kia Ora from a kiwi rider,

I'm traveling to the USA at the end of May and have 4 months to get as far south as possible. I'm also without a bike at this point but plan to buy in the states given how much cheaper I can get a 650GS there.

If you end up leaving a bit later, or are traveling slow let me know. I'd be keen to join forces for Panama if you're making the crossing.

Kia Kaha,

Manic

Hello LifeOfAnAdventurer!
A friend and I are contemplating a similar trip through Central America. He lived in Guatemala for a few years. I backpacked through Belize/Guatemala/CostaRica. We would be traveling via similar means, off the beaten track, as yourself. We were thinking the weather would be nicer during the dry season of January/February. But if we can't get organized enough before then, maybe we could join your March timeline? What are your thoughts on the weather that time of year in CA? I'll seek you out on FB. Cheers...

also kiwi, also heading south!

Hola (and kia ora),

Got my g650x bike waiting in SoCal to continue riding south via Baja etc. Flights booked already for arrival 8Feb but won't get to Mexico and central until mid to late Feb. I'd prefer to airfreight as I've backpacked Central years ago and the multiple borders and hassles I'd happily skip to get to South America quickly. But costs are the determining factor. So Stefan also told me no Stahlratte (also a sailor but a shoestring traveler first), so what other options? Not many at the moment.

Any chance you could check airfreight of a bike and flight for one NZ passenger from Mexico City to anywhere cheap in SA? Ok not ANYWHERE, but you know what I mean.

Hey MaNICK, howzit? You are going too late mate, come earlier bro!

I'm keen to travel with anyone, my spanish is poor but survival level, and i'm an experienced overseas rider.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
