Bypassing CyberPro restrictions
hi !!!
here is a little discovery -or It may be well known and just I didnt knew- but I think is really usefull .
The problem: Most cybercafes in Africa are using CyberPro , a cybercafe managing software which -after entering a timecode- lets you click in one of 3 or 4 choices , being "Internet" "Yahoo Messneger" "Games" , etc.. but you never can access the PC itself , Ie. hard disk drive , or command prompt , or launching -say- a DOS box , or -whatever. In my particular case , I needed to launch remote-desktop-client (more on that later) and obviously Cyberpro didnt have an option for that .
The Solution : Click "Internet" ,then instead of typing -say- "www.sahara-overland.com" type "C:\" -in the web adress line. Hit Enter .. and voila ! you got the C: drive contents.
Then click in the "Windows" folder , click again in "System32" , and click in "CMD.EXE" . A small DOS box appear. From there , you got all the PC in your hands. Just type "Explorer" hit RETURN , and you get your Windows task bar (the STart menu ) and from there you can do whatever you wish ...
for example , switching to English Keyboard ,. or using Control Panel for something , Installing some software , deleting , whatever.
Enjoy
