6L Motorcycle Auxiliary Gas Tank

I have an Auxiliary Gas Tank from Camel Tanks mounted on my wr250r

It is very well designed and the attention to detail is exceptional. It feeds fuel into the main tank while riding through the Vacuum line. Thus it empties first before the main tank does. The tank is light and slim and fits the profile of the bike well. my range is now 500km with my Safari tank. I am incredibly happy with the tank. No leaks just fill up and Ride. Totally forget that it is even there

Welcome to the HUBB

Nice WR and modification, I was reading your post on WR250 Forum.

I nearly bought a used 2013 WR250R last year with the IMS 4.7G tank, it too was leaking from the bung in the wing, looks like IMS either have a design or a QC issue. The owner contacted IMS and they were going to send him a new tank.

How do you like the quality of the Safari tank? The Camel tank looks well built, if the bike was dropped on it is it robust? does the rear brace attach to the stock license plate holder or can you change to a small license holder with no problems?

Im still looking for a good used WR, the KTM is awesome on the trails and I wont be selling it, but it is horrible on pavement for any long distance.

Interesting to hear about the bung. I think I read about that last year as well when I bought 2 4.7gal myself. They haven't leaked so far and have seen heaps of abuse so hopefully they worked out the problem. I'm guessing I could always apply some plastic tank repair around the bung to seal it should it leak?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
