GIANT LOOP, the best soft luggage solution.
Giant Loop makes the best soft luggage gear IMHO.
I have tested their Great Basin Saddlebag in Namibia earlier this year. 6500 km of some of the toughest desert tracks and the bags were a pleasure both in organizing my gear and while riding on the bike.
The bags keep the weight close and low and minimizes the effect the extra weight have on handling.

i've got the coyote and love it. I'm saying that because then people may buy them which will give GL more money and then they can focus on fixing the small niggle which is the fact that when the two dry zips come together they create a gap where water can get in. Does anyone have a fix that doesn't involve gaffer-tape?

Problem already solved, Coyote now comes with a weather flap that generously covers the zipper.

The lower saddle bag sections look a lot smaller than you would get with say 2 separate Wolfman bags. How many litres/gallons capacity are the lower sections?

Can you get away without having a rack to keep it off the exhaust on a DR 650?

The zip issues aside would you still use it over separate side bags and a top duffle?

They say 30+ litres. Not sure the exact amount but the way the bag expands let's you pack more than you'd expect.

You don't need racks (a jubilee clip is provided that goes around the exhaust and keeps the bag off the can) and I use a small dry bag on top of it/just behind it but I wouldn't put them over other panniers - think lightweight!

Hi - has anyone found a picture of the Coyote Weather flap? it's not like I can take my Coyote back but perhaps some reverse-engineering is on the cards?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
