Half price Helinox Chairs ??
These look VERY similar to to helinox.

My guess is that they come from the same factory but without the Touratech effect.

Ie.... Put a stamp on it and charge twice the price

I have a Helinox and love it. This looks the same...definitely worth a punt at that price!

£80 for a chair made of old tent poles and some canvas is OUTRAGEOUS.

Ted - there are tent poles and there are tent poles... you'd no want carbon fiber one here... certainly not cheap ones.

I'm not suggesting this IS a helinox. Or that it is as good.

However, without someone trying and comparing, we will never know.

There is no way a genuine helinox needs to cost anywhere near what they do... They probably cost about £3 each to make in a factory in China.

Ted well spotted, agree with the Touratech brand selling everything for a ridicolously inflated price, I highlighted a few items a while ago that where half the price elsewhere.

These seats look good but I would still want to pay far less £3 would be far more pleasing and at that price you can always give the thing away as a gift I like my thermarest chair kit (present that I couldnt justify the cost of myself) but it still means being on the ground which is not ideal with bugs about and its a bit of a pain fitting the struts each time you use it

I haven't put it through its paces yet however I am away with the bike at the end of the month and will report back. I never got hit with any import duty.

Remember,once you've set it up, not to 'drop' into it! - it has a max weight limit and that does not include it accelerated by gravity!!

I can confirm that; my mate has one and he's a chunky b'stard. I have seen him flop drunkardly into it without any damage.

I took a punt and ordered the copy/rip-off/clone. I'll give some feedback when or if it arrives.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
