Leather boot waterproof polish: Daytona FREY
hi
just a note to say I find the Daytona FREY special boot polish amazing stuff. really does work at keeping boots waterproof and even rescuing ones have lost their waterproofness
It is best applied to boots that are warm and dry (and clean) eg been on a radiator or so. Then daub some on boot and spread around with a finger leave it to soak into the leather. don't use a hairdryer as this seems to evaporate the polish.
I was wondering if some one (ie someone not travelling) can contact Daytona to see if they will give the HUBB a discount as at about 12 GB pounds a tube it is not cheap
I even found space in my panniers on my trip ( www.prexpressions.com) for the stuff as I rate it that much

Hi yep most boot polish will do the job, there were quite a few people on here saying they their MX boots let in water, the lazy's had never sealed them properly.
Also a good idea to do and leather gloves you might have as well, as it keeps out more of the wind and rain.

Hi Paul,
I think you will find that Daytona do not do discounts to anyone. Even the race guys that wear their boots have to pay for them which is why Kenny Roberts Jr, probably, stopped wearing them.
That shows their confidence in their product... no?

Is it Daytona Water Stop?
If so, it's advertised on the GLF web site at £9.99. GLF are the UK distributors for Daytona.
Let us know because I had thought of getting some. Cheers, Stephan

I think I've also only used the water proof stuff on my Daytonas. However they're still waterproof, hence there's technically no need for me to 'improve' anything. I'll look into it as soon as they start leaking though, thanks

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
