map holder
Hello,
Has anyone got any recommendations for a simple, waterproof, map holder that I can strap onto the handlebars and drape over the tank? I'm currently using resealable freezer bags. These do the job up to a point but they are rather thin and do easily tear, plus my bar mounting could be better
Many thanks
Pete.

Halfords do a cheap one that is pretty tough and has survived winter off road use - have a look in their cycling section.

Second vote on the Halfords ones. I have had one for years and it's only just becomeing unusable because the plastic is no longer clear ( ground in mud )

Bar Pack
BarPack Mapcase (080-0030) by CycoActive
Have used this for nearly 1.5 years on the road. Wouldn't go back to using a tank bag.
Unclips easily so you can take it with you and isn't too bulky. Good sized map window plus space for carrying documents, camera etc.

Yup, this is the only piece of motorcycle gear I own which has never leaked. Note, however, that it will scratch if the bike is turned upside down on top of it in mud, stones or other abrasive surfaces.

Without wishing to hijack, has anyone tried the Bagster map holder that attaches to their tank covers? If so, do you find it waterproof?
Bagster Map Holder
My bike came with the tank cover when I bought it and it is a great product but I'm not so keen on the tankbag - leaks like a sieve. I am in two minds whether to get the Bagster holder or modify another proven type to fit the mountings.
