Seem to be two option here -
The expensive one: - get a road computer/trip computer style thing from Touratech and similar companies, there are a few threads about these on certain places on here
OR:
The cheap alternative - buy a cycle computer!
I have looked into this as an addition to my XTZ so that I can judge Kms when abroad. a bit of research has found the following -
1. Nobody makes a standard kit that is long enough to do the job on an my XTZ.
2. Sigma make some really good ones AND
3. Sigma make a rear mounting sensor for bikes that comes with a much longer wire on it.
4. The sensor (reader) can easily be mounted on the bike fork and with a ittle working will get close to the rim.
5. You can get rim mounted magnets that make this easier.
All up - I think you can do it for about £30 with a bit of inginuity..
If you do find a solution please let us know - any pics would be greatly appreciated aswell. Good luck
Tony.
