WP suspension warning (Sept 2009)
Just a word of caution in case anyone else is on the same boat... After TWO MONTHS of waiting for a rear WP (White Power) shock for my Vstrom 650 I got told today that there is no ETA and they'll therefore refund me.
The reason quoted was mayhem due to moving/consolidating factories from Holland to Austria (or vice versa).
Still unacceptable, and two weeks before the trip I'm left with no read shock.
According to what I've been told this is not a http://www.wpsuspension.co.uk issue, but rather a general WP issue.
FYI

Sorry to read about your troubles, did you find another brand to go with?? I use Wilbers myself and have good experience with them as in 70K miles on a set with one rebuilt (normal after 40-45K miles) I ride a big heavy bike mostly off pavement too. No commercial interest here, just my own experience...YMMV

Wilbers are said to be very good. Also worth a look are Technoflex. Be warned, though.
Make sure you specify "Technoflex motorcycle suspension" in your search phrase too as the "Technoflex" marital aid that also came in the search results is probably less adjustable on preload and compression, whilst the rebound is going to be over the top, Vstrom or not!!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
