Dual Sport tires- what to get?
I am shopping for a pair of 90% road, dual sport tires for my MZ Baghira. My primary need is that they will last for 9-10,000 miles of road riding. Will the Metzler Tourances go the distance? How about the Avon Distanzia? Any recommendations? Bonus points if you can refer me to a US supplier.<g>.

Hi,
I second that.
The TKC80 (Continental twinduro) is the perfect tyre for the front. It will last at least 15.000 km (tarmac or gravel)
Alos very good is the Dunlop D605.
For the rear I would choose less knobbly.
I really liked the Dunlop D604. It lasted 24.000 km.
The Tourance lasted only 12.000 wich surprised me totaly course it costs twice as much as the rest.
Hope this helps.

I have MT60s on my XR125L they are great on the road and not bad off road.
Have not good much knowledge of tires and have only done 800 miles on them but they seem to work great.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
