A tent that attaches to the rear of a car?

Hi all,
Could someone recommend a tent that attaches to the rear of a Land Rover?

A bit like the old and heavy British Army Command tent, the old Aztec Autohaven? I have attached a pic of the Autohaven for reference.

It needs to be fairly robust to survive rain, preferably not canvas?

Regards
Udhi

I did look at the CARANEX site, but there seems to be some kindo of issue, as all the kit is siold out and there is info on it that new versions are being prepped. I sent an email but there has been no reply, maybe they had shut down completely due to COVID?

Keep the ideas coming pls.

Vaude is in use by a friend, who is pretty happy with the quality.

I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Quality was OK, although it was a pain to set up. I stopped using it though, because I didn't like having the tent at the back of the car, it was far too claustrophobic for me...couldn't see anything.

Instead a use a Slumberjack Roadhouse tarp, which I like much better https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't set it up as shown on Amazon however, but have one side sloping almost to the ground, with the other side about the height of the vehicle.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
