Any Mods Needed for trip to Maroc
Hi All
I have got a Nissan Safari and was wondering would I need to make any modification if I took to Morrocco?
Would only be doing light offroading. Normally use my motorcycle but girlfriend is expecting so bike out of question on this trip.
Thanks
Julio

In a word, no.
A standard Nissan Patrol / Safari will do what you want without any modifications. If it is a petrol engined vehicle, you may want to consider the fuel consumption very carefully. I don't have any experience of diesel Patrols, but I know they are less heavy on the gas!
I drive a SWB Patrol in the UAE. The only modifications I have made are to mount a winch on the front and upgrade the front springs to take the extra weight. It wasn't a necessary modification - I already had the winch off a previous Nissan Patrol of mine and I wanted to use it.
Since your 'other half' is expecting, be careful. Good luck with your trip!

John summed it up pretty nicely. The Patrol in stock form is an excellent vehicle that will handle anything you throw in its way. All you need to do is service it and make sure it’s in top shape. If you feel like you need to modify it, I always do, it’s addictive let me tell you , you can install the OME suspension kit. I know you won’t do much off-roading but it will handle better on the road and will tolerate more load. Just a though.

The OME suspension is excellent, particularly for LWB Patrol. It's more of a challenge to get it set up right for the SWB, but it can be done.
If I had the money (refer to my other posting RE: accessory prices ), I'd fit it to mine, even though it isn't really necessary!
Have a good trip.
