Anyone from the Netherlands?
Hello,
Well we have finally made the descision to go by 4x4 into Algeria, hopefully Libya and finally into Niger.
I thought that would be the hardest step. But now looking on the internet I am finding it difficult to find places where we can outfit our Nissan Patrol. We are hoping to buy most of our equipment eg, roof rack, spare wheels, jerry cans second hand but cannot find any place to help us.
Does anyone out there know some businesses or web sites which could help us.
Thanking you
Sheila

Sheila,
If you find it difficult in NL to find equipment for a Japanese 4x4, what can we say here in the UK? AFAIK there's a couple companies closer to you:

I have brought in a lot of equipment directly from South Africa (to the UK) - roof tent, shower skirt awning, split charge system and will probably also get a air compressor from Oz. It works out quite cheaply in most cases...
I'll post details when I get onto my other computer if you like?
Cheers, Darrin

Hi Sheila,
Nissan Patrol is everywhere in NW Spain (Galicia, Asturias, etc..). They were manufactured in Spain for lot of time. You can find LWB, SWB, high-roof Patrols.
So you can find easily 2nd hand roof racks, strength the suspension, mount winches, bash plates, etc, etc. They know how to do it.
I have a LWB High-roof Patrol and I've outfitted it in Spain, easily and less expensive than in Portugal (where I live).
All you need is to find time to come down here !!!
Good luck,
José

Yeh, thanks for the advice, but was more after 2nd hand stuff. So we are going to the LandRover show in england this weekend to see what we can find. Have ordered a couple of new things from www.mattsavage.co.uk which all has 20% discount if I pick it up the show.
