dj, thanks for the info, I'm intrigued, those heaters look like they are running off water, are you piping them into the All Sport tank, or is that a Tank? From the photo's it's kind of hard to see!

** They are part of the military winterised heating system - they run off the coolant from the engine when turned on - all hooked up to a webasto engine pre heater thing. Now ripped out as it was old and unreliable as a result.

Also do you mind me asking where you bought your Landy from? Did you get it from the Defender Center?

** I went to a auction and bought it straight from the military - I don't think you can do this anymore. But I'd stick to a civilian one anyway.

I liked the Video of you with the "Killer Goats" BTW! Funny little creatures aren't they!

** Glad you liked it!

Well I received the book and.... well to be honest I'm sad to say that I could have saved the money, the few points that are truly of interest are not worth the £18.99 and could have been posted here, the insulation material they recommend in something called xtrem, and I have searched the web, and can't seem to find anything about this, but maybe I was just unlucky with google.
Either way, you live and learn, thanks for the advice none the less.

Just finished ....

Finished today actually. Anyway I would offer advice but I would rather wait and see how it all works before suggesting it to anybody. There are some great ideas at www.overland.co.za.

Have fun doing it all, I dead tired from kitting it out and I haven't even started the trip yet.

Cheers
Simon

New to Horizons Unlimited?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
