Portable Generator
Has anyone taken a small portable Generator (e.g. Honda EU10i or cheaper variant such as Clarke IG1000) with them on their travels?
We're not planning on using it daily just to annoy people around us, but are thinking that we wouldnt have to stress as much if we ended up stopping somewhere for a few days longer with a fridge (which we hope to buy one day soon!).
Cheers,
Rich

Hi Rich,
I'm with Rich on this one. I have a Honda EU10i in my truck but I never use it.
I drag it out on occasion to boil the kettle just to keep it serviceable but I have never been in a position where I really needed it as the solar keeps everything ticking along nicely.
That said, the Honda is an excellent Generator, considering that the EU10i has been around for 10 years unchanged and is still the market leader they must have got something right.

These guy's know alot about independant power supplys. It might be worth cruising around there site. I found it usefull.
As I'm sure you already know the compressor fridge is everything and there are plenty of threads in this site about them. I have used an Engel MT40 for years. expensive to buy but worth it as the power consumption is minimal.
Cheers, Andy
