50` North
Well folks, after over a year of planning, we're off in 2 weeks.
We'll be riding out of Felixstowe to Dover and across on the ferry to Boulogne on 6 May then heading east towards Romania and the Ukraine. The route from there is fuzzy, but we'll eventually come back through Russia.
Those of you who may be on the road about the same time/place, look us up along the way. Keep track through our blog: http://50-degrees-north.blogspot.com/
or give us a call on the mobile: +61 (0)417 264 024.
Cheers
Mick & Colleen
PS: to those of you in various Communities we've been in touch with, we'll email or phone you as we get close . . .

Hiya Mick and Colleen,
I will be following your blog. Probably see you in Felixstowe. I am in Dubai at the moment and head to London tomorrow. Hopefully the rain gets a bit warmer before we pick up our bikes! It's hot here.
Cheers,
Kenny

I would be interested to know what insurance company you've used as I'm struggling to find cover for out-of-the-ordinary trips.

Don't know yet. Get Routed has arranged Green Card and full comp. I get the policy when I pick the bike up. They have a special deal with one of the companies in the UK.

Jeezz... You've completely missed the most beautiful and scenic parts of Europe, namely Scandinavia in general and Norway in particular ;-)
Anyway: Enjoy you tour - I am sure you'll have a GREAT time!

Can't rule the north out yet Indu; we're flying by the seat of our pants; ziging, zaging, left or right - who cares - it's all about the adventure.
Spent out first day in Budapest; must have walked 10km seeing the sights - we're buggered. Time for a cold and a nanna-nap . . . . . .

Watching with interest
Hi guys,
Two more Aussies riding around Europe this year (2 mates, both 34, one from Tassie, one from Qld but living in the UK) - From July to Oct, first month in Scandinavia, then Eastern Europe, down to Bulgaria, around and up the Adriatic coast and back through Slovenia and wherever. So we are keeping an eye on your trip for all the great advice! We are currently trying to organise Russian visas so we can ride via St Petersburg on our way between Finland and Estonia, which will be around early - mid August. So if you are in the vicinity then, drop me an email and we'd love to catch up.
Good luck,
Damien

Hi Damien; sorry guys, we'll be back in the UK around middle of July and be leaving for home on 7 August. We'll catch up with your adventures on the HUBB. Cheers and ride safe. Mick and Colleen.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
