Best time to travel to Norway
I've just moved to Belgium, and I'm contemplating a Scandinavia trip for next year.
Which would be the best summer month to travel to Norway? (including North Cape)
Thanks in advance
V.

I have been 2 times in Norway, both in August...and both the weather was cold and rainy in the fiords area.
The next time I plan a trip to Norway will be in June; as far as I know, it is the best month.

My experience is that you can get 'changeable' weather in Norway over the summer. But I've been there in June/July and had no really 'bad' weather.
Personally I would look at being right in the north around mid June to maximise the amazing 'midnight sun' experience.

Be aware, though, that some mountain passes might be closed until late June.

Hi all
I travelled to Scandinavia from Normandy (F) in 2013 , i think the best time is june (except for this year) anyway , june is my favorite month ,usually nice weather , longer daylight and not too many tourists on the road (specially in Nordkapp) mosquitos are not to many yet, flowers are at their best and if you want to see the sun bouncing on the horizon (unlimited of course) this is the the best month.
I had wonderful weather on my way up via DK S and Lapland but a bit more rainy on the Atlantic road down to the westland , but don't worry you will enjoy it a LOT (don't forget your fishing gear)
Ride safe and cool

Thank you all for your input!!!
Professionally speaking late June is a good time, so I guess I'll start planning for that time of year.
All the best,
Victor

Hi,
Im planning to ride the Scandinavian this Summer 2016 (21 July till 5 sep) . I make an estimation of about 45 days starting from Amsterdam ride up to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Amsterdam. Free and easy.
Will camp mostly and want to do some fishing too. From my readings the weather may not be on my side so I am prepared for it.
Any advises and not to miss places information are most welcome.
Im on two up on a 2008 KLR 650.

My 'must do' list :
Spend a night on the campsite at the end of Lysebotn Fjord
Stop often, take photos, and enjoy the scenery
Atlantic Ocean road - there is a cool campsite at Storsandoya to the north of the Atlantic Ocean road
Trollstigen
The road from Grotli to Stryn (258) and then down to Hjelle - stop for photos by the lake at Hjelle
Take in the sights of the National Tourist Routes (Norway) National Tourist Routes in Norway
Stop off at Hell (in Norway)
Go through the Laerdal Tunnel (longest in Europe ?) and then go back on the 'old' road over the top !
North Cape
Lofoten Islands
Cross the Oresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden
