Buying a Motorbike in Europe with AU/RF Citizenship
Hey boys and girls !
The story is I am a AU and Russian citizen and have been living in Moscow for the past 5 months. My time here is coming to an end and I would like to buy a motorbike and do some traveling around Europe for the next 3 months. The only problem is buying a motorbike !!!! I have come up with a few different plans but they all seem to have issues.
Plan A: Buy a motorbike in Moscow.
Problems:
Motorbikes here are to expensive and/or are in poor condition.
The registration for the motorbike runs out/gets canceled as soon as my propiska/self registration runs out which is on the 30th of June.
I could register it under some one else's name but not sure if I will be able to cross the Russian border if the bike is not registered under my name. Also their will be problems with selling it after.
Plan B: Buy a motorbike in Sweden.
Problems:
I cant register a motorbike under my name unless I can prove that I have the intention of living in Sweden for the next year (I need documents to prove this).
I thought about getting temporary registration as the bike will be exported and sold in another country but I need to be a EU citizen.
The last option is to get the bike registered under a friends name in Sweden and ride it like that. The rules in Sweden allow for this but I am not sure about other countries. i.e. This could raise a problem when entering Russia. The other problem is trying to sell it in another country with the official owner being in Sweden.
Any tips, recommendations, opinions or personal experience stories will be much appreciated )))
Thank You.
