Cheap Hostals in France?
Hi there,
Does anyone know of any sites dedicated to cheap hostels in France? Pretty much every one I've found so far, even ones called called things like 'Hostelworld.com', etc all seem to advertise hotels rather than backpacker/ cheap style hostels simply for sleeping and little to nothing else.
Anyone have any recommendations?

Hostelling International
Have a look at HI - France Youth Hostels you'll need to join in advance, but you can do that at home. And for a graphic version of where they all are there's - Fédération unie des auberges de jeunesse (FUAJ) but only in French (both sites are the same thing really).

Hi,
Yes, this is the one site I've so far found that actually highlights proper hostels. Looks like this is the only one on the net so I'll use that. Although it seems strange there are so few hostels in each city of France. I would've expected there to be so many more for the large country that it is.

Look at Hostelworld.com or look for F1 hotels, they are cheap and very clean with loads of hot water.

You have the Relais Motards, they are all biker-friendly accomodation or restaurants in France. Our experience was very good, they are managed by bikers and they are usually fine and cheap.
You can do a glimpse here (the site is in French) Les Relais Motards du Journal Des Motards
If you ride to east-southern France I suggest you to visit Maison Las Clauzes in Corbières-Minervois (route of Les Cathares), they have a B&B and campsite and the country is really fine to ride. It is also a biker-friendly accomodation Las Clauzes - Startseite

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
