Cheap Motels in Germany
Does anyone have any info on any chain of cheap motels in Germany, similar to the "Formula 1" chain in France? as we want to do motels on route to the Baltics next week. Any suggestions would be great
Regards
Martyn

There are the odd few F1's in Germany. Try www.hotelformule1.com or if you don't get any joy there,PM me and i'll list them for you(i've got a booklet somewhere).

Hi Martyn,
try the following link for biker homes:
http://www.tourenhotel.de/motorradho...utschland.html
Unfortunately only in German :-(
On this page you can click on the region where you're looking for a hotel.
A cheap alternative is to try the "Gasthaus", something inbetween a restaurant and hotel. Very often they also have fairly cheap rooms and good food.
Last possibility is to look out for rooms (Zimmer). They are usually at the bottom of the price range for B&B. Besides that you often have contact to the people.
Good luck!
Hans

I'm impressed at how cheap a room is at those formula 1 places, Berlin at 24 euro a night, about £16, that's almost as cheap as camping is here (UK). Looks like the trip to Poland is back on the agenda, sooner rather than later.

Another sign to look for in Germany is 'Pension'. Another German word for B&B.
