Looking for moto storage in Malaga or Algecires

Hello all:

I plan to go riding in Morocco in January 2018, and would like to store my motorcycle (a Honda ST 1100) in the south of Spain - perhaps in Malaga or Algecires - from the middle of September 2018 until January 2019.

I note that there are some facilities near the airport in Malaga that advertise moto storage, but they charge €70 a month, which seems to me to be a little expensive.

Can anyone recommend a place to store a moto anywhere along the south coast of Spain, between Malaga and Algecires?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Michael

Michael are you sorted already?

I can call around in Spain and get info, I also know only of storage with already mentioned prices.

Have a great day,

Regards

Five or six years ago I stored my bike for a season with Hana at MotoAdventours who is based near Málaga airport.

I don't think she offers this service anymore but she might know of someone.

I have some friends in the area, I can ask them. Perhaps they will rent you out some shared parking space .

Hi Tim:

Thanks for your response. I actually visited Hana at her office two years ago - you are correct, she no longer offers storage for motorcycles.

Hi Dooby:

Thanks for your kind offer, but don't do anything yet.

This weekend, I'm going to meet up with a fellow ST 1100 rider who lives in Southern Spain - he has agreed to do some investigation for me.

Hello All:

I did finally find storage, but in Madrid, not down on the south coast.

There are two companies who offer storage in Malaga: Hispania Tours and IMT Bike. Both are located on the airport property.

Although Hispania Tours advertises storage on their website, when I visited there, they told me that they no longer store motorcycles other than their own because of a lack of space.

IMT Tours does offer storage. For various reasons, I elected to store my moto at their Madrid location, rather than in Malaga.

I was very impressed with the staff at IMT Tours both in Malaga and in Madrid. The facilities are immaculately clean and the staff are courteous, friendly, helpful, and speak English perfectly. They charge €60 a month for bikes smaller than 1,200 cc, and €70 a month for larger bikes. The fee includes insurance, keeping the battery trickle charged, and storing the bike in a temperature-controlled facility. They will also store your riding gear & helmet for you at no additional charge.

IMT Tours can perform maintenance for you on BMW model motos while you have the moto in storage, but not on other makes.

Hope this info helps others in the future,

Michael

In Marbella there is Poligono industrial and a lot of garages that repair bikes and cars, most famous one is called The Garage. I thinks it's owned by a guy from Scotland so maybe they can help you. Or you can contact Tranio they helped me to buy property in Spain several years ago and they have a lot of contacts in the area in general. Maybe they can give you some good advice too.
