Motorcycle + gear storage: N Greece, SE Bulgaria / Istanbul
Hi all, as I've heard storage of motorcycles in Turkey and leaving the country without the bike for long periods of time isn't easy.
Therefore I'd be looking for safe and secure place to store my bike and some gear in Northern Greece or South Eastern Bulgaria - any leads on that?
I'd need to park it for approx 2.5 months starting about next week (17th June 2018).
Thanks!

Okay I'll look for it. Is it really so bad with Turkish customs? Can't I just enter Istanbul thru Edirne from Bulgaria, leave the bike in IST for 2.5 mo And come back and continue my trip?

Yes it is so bad with Turkish customs. The bike reg will be entered into your passport when entering Turkey. You won't be able to leave the country without it unless you park the vehicle in a customs compound and pay the daily rate for storage and the necessary paperwork. We had a number of guests in Turkey wishing to do what you want to do. They ended up parking their bikes up at the Motocamp in Bulgaria.
Cheers,
Dicky

Hi Dooby
Istanbul-based Mehmet might very well know the score on this issue. He's usually very well informed on such matters. Suggest you send him an enquiring message.
I trust you are keeping well.

Hi K & E,
All good here, thanks, I believe you're enjoying life as well .
Will do, Mehmet is really an important part of the community, and we have been in touch on many matters over time.
Storing the bike in Turkey customs can maybe be a short term solution if the price is good and conditions where the bike will be kept are acceptable.
All the best!

I stored my bike at Motocamp in Bulgaria. I tried and failed to find a place in Thessalonika to store my bike.
