Norway - Tromsø service needed F800GS
Hello there. We are in a desperate situation. We are riding F800 GS from Nordkapp and we are currently at Tromsø looking for a service to replace a chain 116x525. We've visited Tromso Motor AS using bmw sign and asked them for service, but was denied that they don't have this on stock and for second they don't have time to replace it. Any idea? I think the chain won't last to Stockholm on our way back.

Thank you Frgich. We found a guy in suzuki service who was incredibly nice to us and made a temporary fix which will last to south - as he said. So if anyone needs a service for bmw, don't go to bmw authorized service - they don't have time and spare parts either. They gonna send you to suzuki service as me ... The guy at suzuki smiled and told me they gonna order bmw spare parts on stock, because they have bikers visitors like me all the time. Adding picture of this service. You can't miss it, it's on the main road E8

Hej Petr,
glad to hear you found a temporary solution.
If you make it to the south I could help with a chain kit (DID525VX-116 - 15/42).
Shop would be in Varberg, Sweden - approx. 80 km south of Gothenburg, E6
Do it youself in our workshop (bench, tools) or I can do it in the evening - no labour costs for travellers. Fair discount on parts.
Just let me know here or +46701418094 (SMS works best)
Best regards
Uwe

If you would pass a "Biltema" store, they may have this:

600-1200 cc gatmotorcyklar 5/8" x 5/16" 3400 kg 699 SEK

Lasse thank you. We are currently 200km north of Stockholm running continuous speed with no accelerating or braking and frequently lubbing the chain and it looks like it's gonna make it.

Just chiming in to say that I had a good experience with the BMW dealer in Tromso--they did some last-minute repairs on my KLR without complaint despite believing I was crazy to be riding such a prehistoric beast. Expensive, no doubt about it, but accommodating in my hour of need.
They offered to make me a good deal on the 1200GS on the showroom floor, ticketed at something like US$40,000 fully equipped, but I respectfully declined. That was 80,000 miles and five continents ago.

Hey guys, thank you all for your help and advices. The guy at Suzuki made a great job and we've made it tight and lubed it every 200km and made it back down. Thanks again
