This is the gone wheel hub destroyed by the cush drive - and the replacement.

Jordan is very happy

And a replacement swingarm is waiting in Romania for him. The drive chain/sprocket holder ate into that considerably as well.

If you post your ride reports hare on HUBB travel tales then EVERYONE IN THE WORLD can see it. Sort of "one stop shopping". Easy to follow with notification sent out every time you post an update. This is what makes HUBB work and makes it possible for the kind of help your getting from the community in

Hi Mollydog,
By posting them here do you mean the riders tales section or the travel stories function?
Also, I completely understand what you mean. Having delved through those forums for months the Dr650 bikes in America seem to be plagued by far less incidents. I don't know why mine went but fingers crossed I'm healthy now and able to continue without any further issues.
Graz here I come I think.

I think you could post up your stories in either forum, but I was thinking the
"Ride Tales" forum actually.
Wow! what a response you've got here! I guess the DR650 is not dead in the EU after all!

Good luck, safe travels.

Thank you everyone

Hello!
So the DR is back alive and on the road where she belongs. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that offered advice or suggestions and a particular thanks to those who stepped up to help a stranded and struggling traveler as he went.
Thomas, Andreas and the rest of the Austrian riders who had input in getting me back on the road were absolute legends and Id be stuck here twiddling my fingers for much longer without them.
Thank you all!
Jordan

Glad to hear that biker karma came through!

In case someone with a similar problem but no guardian angels finds this thread - a good source of parts in Europe is motomike.eu. For example: https://www.motomike.eu/en/faction/s.../DR/Feldx/650/

That's what my local shop uses to order parts, including some pretty damn obscure stuff.
