Shipping + CDP+ sat nav for Asia
hello there,
My first post, great forum thank you all for sharing lots of info and making it fun!
With little or no preparation i want to ship my Yamaha XJ6N to Bangkok, as i have 6 weeks i am considering air and sea. London - Bangkok i got sea £580 not including Thailand cost and air i got £1150 including all. Any advices on this? I dont want to be surprised by Thailand cost just to find out that difference after paying all will be few hundred pounds. Any good companies around that you recommend?
Also i checked on RAC website and it dos not say that CDP ( carnet de passage) is required for Thailand but then i read here that make things easier...as RAC is so expensive i would like to avoid this...anyone knows actual requirements from Thai authorities when shipping the bike? i will also ride to Cambodia and Laos where again its not listed that CDP is essential. i know all can be sorted on most borders with $20 but still...
Any good clearing agent in Bangkok?
Also any GPS maps for Laos and Cambodia?
I am planing to stay aprox 3 months riding the bike.
Thanks
