Touratech in Turkey?
Hi all
I had a bad experience with a Touratech Zega pannier today - the lid basically flew off the bike and was ran over by a truck: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3996729...7622584499466/
My question: Anyone know of Touratech resellers/representatives in Turkey where I might go to have this replaced?
Thanks
Alex

Eyxaristw Pits!
I've stabilized the lid on the case for now with bunjee cords etc, can make it temporarily slightly waterproof as well (am carrying a lot of plastic bags and duct tape), and the Greek distributor (MAKAN) told me today Touratech Germany will send a replacement lid to an address in Turkey.
MAKAN said there is no Touratech distributor in Turkey (as of end 2009), for future searches that might hit this thread.
Thanks!
Alexandros

hi,
there is no touratech suppliers in turkiye. however, the lids can be made in any aluminium window maker shop, or i am sure they will help you to find someone to make it.
other option is to buy it from touratech and send it to turkiye.
good luck

bad news man,
where are you in turkey now ?.. im over in echebat.
If you get to gorome, you can pop over to the truck area in nevshire. ask around and they will be able to do wonders with their pannel beaters and put it back into shape. It will cost a packet to ship it out from germany, International orders all have to sourced from their.
If you need some help on where to go for help, go to Kaya Camping (up the winding hill from gorome) ask for Yashar and say you need some help with it.
I've found my TKC 80's and will be shipping them over to Nevshire in a week.
which size panniers are you using ?
Andy.
Catch you up soon, picked up my iran visa today

Lid Guards
You are not the first nor the last to loose a pannier lid. This is a little late in this case but perhaps for the future.....
Touratech makes a set of lid guard straps for just this reason. Any kind of tether like a strip of leather, a nylon strap or a piece of cord would work. I find the straps handy as I can let the lids dangle while I root through the paniers.
Zega Lid Guard (pair, with release) Part Number: 055-0225
$8.00
Safety strap to prevent loss of pannier lid if you forget to close the latches. Quick-release buckle disconnects easily to allow lids to be disconnected, for example to be used as utility trays when camping. - Adhesive hook-and-loop holds the strap at top of pannier
- Easy assembly uses existing pannier screws
- secures lid from inside pannier
