Turkey-Recording vehicle details at border

Can anyone inform me as to how your vehicle details are logged when entering Turkey? Is it by the Passport Number, name and address or a combination of both? Many thanks.

When you enter Turkey you get two stamps in your passport, one for yourself and the other for your vehicle, the latter stating the date when your vehicle has to leave Turkey (after 3 months). Upon leaving the country you will get another stamp regarding your vehicle.
If I remember correctly a slip was attached with the vehicle data which was removed when exiting the bike.
Your personal address is not of importance.

Turkey

I just examined my passport...

In 2011 we entered Turkey from Greece on our motorcycles, a colorful oversized postage stamp stating:
"Multiple entry visa valid for an intended stay for no more than 90 days per period .180 days Duration begins on the date of entry to Turkey. Holder has no right to work."

was licked and sticked on a page of my passport.

And, a rectangular rubber stamped imprint with the symbol of an automobile was stamped on the same page.

And, four other rubber stamped imprints - to blurred to read, but I suppose 2 entry and 2 exit rubber stamp imprints were also on the same page.

So, yes, I concur with Vaufi, if you enter Turkey with a vehicle, the Turks do keep tract of the date you entered the vehicle and the date you exit the vehicle in your passport.

Many thanks. I know from past experience the vehicle details were recorded on entry and departure it was how that was done and with what the vehicle is linked. It appears from your replies to be the passport. Thanks again.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
