My wife and I plan on touring Ireland late June/ early July. I am exploring moto options.
Buy a bike in the UK-do the tour and either resell the bike or import to US.
What difficulties are involved with registration in the UK ?

How long do you intend to spend touring Ireland? If it's only a couple of weeks, renting may be the cheaper option. Not sure about bike rentals in Ireland though, UK would be a better bet? Much more than a few weeks, then buying & re-selling on completion may be a better bet, although it all depends on the actual bike you require/want to buy? If you're only touring Ireland, you probably won't need something to big or expensive?

If you're buying, you will probably need a valid residential address to register the bike at. A friendly dealer may let you use his business address for the trip duration?
