where to get zx9r serviced at Fr/Sp border (east)

Hi Gang,

Bikey George will need a service in a month.

Any reccomendations for a decent bike shop?

Usual service and the carbs need to be balanced, nothing dramatic is anticipated.

I'll needsome tyres too, any ideas please?

THANKS MUCH,

Zixxer & Bikey George s

A few suggestions

There are a few in here, but not many:- Repair Shops, Europe - The HUBB
If none of those suit you then you can post the one that you find yourself.
Regarding tyres specifically, there are lots of large shopping centre type setups throughout France that have tyre fitting shops - I have seen some of the bigger ones that have specialist bike shops also.

Alternatively, look over to the left of your screen, and contact one or more of the communities depending on where you get to in a month.

French bikers are a very friendly community, especially when you try to speak their language, as the rest of French (contrary to what many say, just start with Bonjour and try your best).

I changed my Chain Kit (D.I.D.) in "Moto Expert" in Perpignan -first big town before the Spanish border- and they were nice, tried their best to have it done quickly and offered reasonable prices. They sell accesories and go for light mechanics (installing them and so on), so guess it it could be a good place for your tires (ask first, please).

Otherwise, in Barcelona area you'll find anything.

BTW, go to the decathlon in Perpignan if you look outdoor gear, it is MASSIVE.

cheers estebangc,

My French is dreadful but as you say, put some effort in and a smile and you get treated very well. No complaints about the French here lad!

PS thanks for the decathlon tip, unfortunately I have too much luggage now and so more Goodies would be unhelpful (IF tempting)

Upps, sorry, I noticed I did not finish the sentence: ask French bikers any time you stop, they are really nice and will be happy to recommend you a good place (of course, I did not assume the you meant the contrary! Apologies).

Enjoy the ride!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
