Manchester to Oslo

Hello all,
The journey so far has run very well.
We loaded up the Land Cruise, 120 series, with everything bar the kitchen sink, well, certainly felt like everything.

I imagine we had 330kg in the back, when we had clipped out the rear child seats.
Oslo / Norway is so hugly expensive, we decided to take over a months worth of groceries and shopping.
Long life milk, we just took 4 cartons with 10 milks in each. 2 electric freezer boxes for the steaks and chicken et.

We left Warrington around 13:00h and cruised to Port of Tyne, Newcastle at a steady 60mph on cruise.
We had a sailing booked for 18:30, with check-in at 17:45, we arrived early at 17:00.

Formalities completed, and we was on the car deck, and we headed for our cabin, as we were not due in Stavangar until 15:00 the following day.

Arriving at Stavangar after an easy North Sea crossing, and 15 minutes before we docked, the doors to the car deck were opened, and drivers and passengers made their way to their vehicles.
Land Cruiser looked good on the car deck, loaded with goodies.

Within 10 minutes, we was heading along E19 towards Kristiansand, and then onto Oslo via the E39.
Norway speed limits are very low, and the general speed limit is either 70km/h or 90 km/h on a "fast road"
We totaled the miles up to 525, and we still had between quarter and empty left.
So all the way from Warrington to Oslo, on the same fuel.
Not bad I said to myself.

So, here we are in a hotel, overlooking the car park, were our Land Cruiser is the only UK registered car I have seen since getting off the ferry.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I took just over 80 liters of additional fuel, that was, lets just say, "surplus to requirements" so I have almost a full tank of fuel to funnel in later on this week.

Graham

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
