I am struggling to find suitable tyres here in South America.
Was hoping Venezuela would come good but neither they nor (so far) anybody in Columbia can answer my request for a strong walled 235 tyre.

I am driving a 4x4 iveco which can weigh up to 4500kgs and so I need a tyre with a Load Rating of G or at least F

needs to be 235 (or 255) / 85 / 16

Can anybody advise of availability here atall ?
getting desperate! soon my front tyres will look like a local taxi slick tread!!!

Well i agree that there is also a numeric rating system, but my tyres quite definately have the formulation of letters in this order :

' Load Range G '

either way my problem still exists ! bizarrely even though there is a Michelin manufacturing plant here in Columbia I am struggling to find a tyre anywhere here which is my size but at a suitable side wall strength.

I foolishly bought a Load Range E (BF Goodrich) back in Kazakstan once and regretted it coz i got numerous punctures and tread wore through ridculously quick.
Great tyre for a landrover (they all seem to have them) but of course a kitted landrover only weighs in at 3000 off kgs.

there is a supplier in UK somewhere who offer part worn michelin of our size, but for life of me cannot remember their name, any ideas?

how's the back holding out ? all good i hope.

I have never seen or heard of a 235/85R16 with load range higher than "E".
In that load rating the tire has a load rating of 3042 lb ~ 1385kg/tire. Enough for a rear axle load of ~2700kg.
I have the entire Michelin truck tire database at my fingertips.
Significantly higher load ratings for Michelins in 16" (which generally have the highest load ratings of all truck tires) require perhaps a 9.00R16 (also called 255/100R16) in XZL. It has a load rating of 4240kg/axle (it has a dual rating, this is at slower top speed). At 85psi/5.75 bar
8.25R16 XZL is rated at 2900kg/axle, maybe barely enough for you. At 65psi/4.5bar
7.50R16 XZY comes in 2 load ratings, the higher is 3305 lb/tire which is 6610 lb/axle which is ~3000kg/axle. At 100 psi/~7 bar
