Smile Honda Rally Touring 600V

My lad has just been offered an example of the above, the name is all he knows about it, other than that it's a 600cc V-twin. I have no knowledge of Hondas myself, can anyone tell me more about the type, please?

John

I think you will find that it is the Honda Transalp - at least that is what you tend to get if you google it. Kind of a heavier version of the Dominator. I used to have one, no major problems and rather comfortable I seem to remember.

Transalp

Hi,

The 600V is the Transalp and it is a very reliable and comfortable bike. We are in Ghana (Africa) at present and my girlfriend rides one. Honda changed it to a 650 in 2000.

Talking transalp

I had one for a year or two and found it to be the sweetest bike Ive owned. Not fast or good round corners but solid as a rock and i mean totally solid. It was OK two up except for motorway riding due to it's 600cc, still it got us where we wanted with comfort and we loaded the machine to the hilt and the damn thing loved it.
I now ride a suzuki bandit 1200 and have had no end of messing about setting it up for touring due to poor build quality (suspension) and next year I'll be shopping for a new alp.

for anything you need to know: http://www.ta-deti.de/

it's in english and will give you what you wnat to know

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
