Transalp 700 project bike
I bought my TA 12 months ago and thought I'd list what I've done to it and whether I'd do it again:
All work was done by ROAM.
Uprated horns - PIAA twin 400/500 hz would do again yes, great for dopey Sunday drivers and required in Italy
12v Socket - for powering things - would do again, yes maybe with a different manufacturer who makes a nice bracket
Higher screen - better stone/bug protection -would do again, yes though can make the front light in high winds
Canvas front panniers - great do the job, just don't put anything in there you need dry unless you drybag it first.
Heated grips - nuff said, great for drying out gloves.
30mm bar riser - good but would go for 25mm for more stability
Air hawk - great for backs, did mine in Feb in a car crash. Not cheap but good once you have the pressure right.
Trax panniers - well worth it though watertightness leaves something to be desired. The Evo easy rack removal is great.
Optimate HOME ONLY NOT TRAVELLING - good for when you're at home, adds little weight then
Givi topbox - bolted to the bike so it can't be kicked off easily.
Bash plate and bars - make the bike look like it means business though the plastic factory one is pretty good for moderate impacts.
I'll keep this updated as things progress.
Thanks
Let me know your modifications.
