Smile HU Perth 2016 Meeting is on Sep 16-18!

We're very pleased to announce that the Horizons Unlimited 2016 Western Australia Travellers Meeting will be held Sep 16-18, 2016 at Fairbridge Village near Pinjarra!

Jaye Edwards did a brilliant job as local host in 2015, and after an extended rest and some regenerating travels to Thailand (!), she has picked up the mantle again! Good on ya, Jaye!
"Awesome work to the organisers and support crew. Without you it just wouldn't happen. Great job and look forward to next year as well."

Note the earlier dates, hoping for cooler weather! Online registration is open now, early bird rates until end-April!

HU Perth meet - $55 earlybird registration until June 30

Not yet registered for this year's Horizons Unlimited Perth event? The next earlybird pricing closes on June 30th. Get in now to register for only $55!

We're pulling together a great line-up this year. Still nutting out some of the details, but confirmed first-time presentations so far:
- Vince and Karen Partridge, giving his & hers presentations about their 10 month trip from UK to Bangkok, delving into the organisational & everyday life sides of 2up travel
- Steve Fraser, professional photographer, who will help you get the best photos out of your adventures
- Jenny Engwirda, detailing her minimalist approach to a motorbike trip through Thailand
- Frank Di Giovanni, journalist & photographer, on recording your adventures & how to get published
- John Lizamore, on taking the new Africa Twin through its paces on a 12000km journey through South Australia, & also The Zen of Long Distance Travel by bike
- Xander Kabat, about exploring Romania on the tail of Vlad Draculea ("The Impaler")
- Ariel Leano, on an accountant's view to budgeting & preparation for long-term travel while he's undertaking a lap of Oz
- Tam Kabat, about the challenges a relatively inexperienced solo rider faced in crossing the country then back again
- the basics of motorcycle maintenance workshop led by John Lizamore (registrations required)

It's nearly here!!!

Horizons Unlimited Perth is just 2 weeks away! Not registered yet? There's still time to take advantage of the pre-meet price. Register & pay before September 9th for only $65 - it will be $75 at the gate!

Newly confirmed is the
biker first aid and survival skills with Rider Down and Bob Cooper! There's also $1000 worth of bike travel up for grabs in the door prize, thanks to Bikes Abroad.

Going to the meet? Why not set-up a group ride?
I think members of the HU Perth Facebook group can create events, so do that first https://www.facebook.com/groups/850039635112751/
If it doesn't work, then just post your ride details (time, location, dirt/road/both, planned route) direct to the Discussion, or on this thread
Perth Adventure Riders have organised a ride to the meet on Fri 16th, starting 9am at Mundaring Dome. Details at https://www.facebook.com/events/204852069880658 (PAR members only)

Anyone looking for somewhere to start their ride to the meet is welcome at Overlander Adventure Equipment on Fri 16th from 9am-12pm, where we'll have FREE hot drinks & Krispy Kreme doughnuts for meet attendees. Our convenient location gives you easy access for great rides to the meet via the Perth Hills or the Roe Highway. WHILE DOUGHNUTS LAST!!!! Overlander Adventure Equipment

Getting excited!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
