Broken down in Liller, France

Hi all, hope no one minds me posting on a friends behalf as he doesn't have internet access just now. I have a friend Steve with a broken down Bus/Motorhome just outside Liller in France. He was heading to Southern Spain, then hoping to ride to Morocco and further a field on his bike but the old bus has got a problem with its fuel pump and he's a bit stuck. I am trying to source some parts for him but don't know how successful that will be. But if anyone is near by that can help in any way, even if its just for a bit of moral support and a laugh, he would be most grateful. If anyone can I'll get his exact location. Thanks for reading this regards Nikki

It may well be of help if you told us the make, mode, year and any other details of the vehicle

Where?

Ok, it's probably a typo, but where is your friend? Is it Lille or Lillers?? there is no Liller as far as I know.

A little more detail if possible please. It'll help others that can/want to help a brother in need.

broken down in Liller cont.....

Hi sorry, yes it is Liller in France. The bus/Motorhome is a 1974 Bristol LHS with a Leyland 401 horizontal engine. Its a problem with the fuel pump but the info Steve texted me is as follows "there's a set of gears at the front of the engine , one of these gears has a shaft through it, which drives the pump via a flange, this shaft runs on bearings with a seal against the housing to stop oil leaking, mines gone south!" Sorry but I don't know what that is exactly. The last text I got from him says he's thinking of heading to Dover on his bike to source parts, possibly just bearings. Thanks all Nikki

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
