HU Bulgaria Mini-Meet July 19-21
Our good friend Polly Marinova writes:
Hot hot hot! Finally we were able to decide on the annual HU travelers meeting in Motocamp Bulgaria. The reason we are a bit late, is that this year we are having two special guests telling us about their adventure across Europe dedicated to the 75th anniversary from WW2. Five US gentlemen will ride their WW2 Harleys across Europe, starting in UK, visiting Normandy for the D-day 75th anniversary, keeping east to "invade" Germany again.
Two of them - Doug Wothke and Kelly Moldin will be coming to the meeting on their bikes.
So, another HU mini travelers meet at MotoCamp Bulgaria, 19-21st of July 2019.
As in years past, we'll have the usual fun & frivolity. Travel tales, info seminars (feel free to suggest topics) and nightly drinking/story telling. But, if you do plan to attend, please let us know, so we have an idea of how many people to plan for. https://www.facebook.com/MotoCamp.Bulgaria/
Keep checking for program updates. Please share with your friends, lets have some fun!

Great minds think alike
Hi!
I live in UK, and I am thinking very hard about going to Bg on my bike.
After couple of years of "softing" I feel a bit intimidated by the prospect, though.
I like "roughing it" a bit and go as usual off the beaten track. Wild camping rather than 5-star.
Wild camping is not really allowed in most of Europe, but bivouac by the bike is usually fine. Have done it few times in years past.
Coffee in the morning with my portable ethanol burner is a must.
End of July to September was the time frame that I would like to go, and it would be great to tag along to this meet.
My father built quite a few (now scenic) roads around Bg in the 50's, he was a motorcyclist and camper as well.
All my life I've dreamed to ride "his" roads...
I'd be very happy if you guys can give me few pointers, and maybe some pep talk and make it hard for me to chicken out
BTW, I speak fluent Bulgarian, English, Swedish/Norwegian and a bit of German.
Cheers!

I have only just seen your post. Did you get any comments, replies or advice from anyone? Are you still thinking of riding off into the sunset? We live in Bulgaria and are happy to help in any way that we can...

Hi, Eskimo!
Very nice of you to respond and offer, but unfortunately, I will not be able to do this trip this year.
Not enough time, and will not be able to afford it.
Will try again next year...
Are you a biker?
Where in BG do you live?

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
