HU Germany Meeting - A Big Thank You!
OK, I can now say that I've visited my very first Horizons Unlimited Meeting and would definitely recommend it to anybody that’s not yet been to one! I was only there for one day, but still had the opportunity to meet and speak to many great and interesting people and listen to some first-class presentations. The organisation of the event was super, and as a presenter, it was great to be able to just turn up with a CD in my hand and find all the necessary equipment working to perfection, although thanks are due here to Werner for controlling the slides and for his prompts when I forgot something important!
I would like to say a big thank you to all the kind people who supported my cause (The orphanage in Calarasi, Moldova), either by buying my book or for making a donation. Thanks here especially to Jens and Grant for the generous donation given by Horizons Unlimited.
I hope to see a lot of the great people I met some time in the future!
Best regards
Dave

I have just arrived back home in Bonnie Scotland. Thanks to Jens for a GREAT rally. After having beautiful warm weather in Germany we arrived back in England this morning to rain. We crossed the border to Scotland to no rain but to a very cold journey. So, it seems like everything is back to normal.
I'll be booking next year's German trip. Just make sure you organise the great weather.
I forget the name of the guy who organised Sunday's ride out but I'd like to say thanks to him. That was the highlight of the trip for me.
Jim

Indeed I did mean Saturday's ride out. The cold weather has frozen my brain I think.
30 degrees you say? HMM we were about 12 degrees on the way home but it's now 15 degrees and feeling warm.

@ Jim,
no competition, but the weather during the German HU was miles better than in Ripley last year Any
I thought you had grip heating !?
@ Jens,
sorry I let you down re packing and tidying the place, but I had told you, that if it rains, I'll leave straight away. So it did, but stopped quite soon
I was going to get the benches stacked away, but before I could start, all the people flocked into the tents for breakfast...
Let's see what next year will be like.
Thanks anyway for your effort. You did a great job. I enjoyed the weekend VERY much
Hans

The heated grips were on full power all the way home. I'm getting soft in my old age I guess.

A big THANK YOU from me and Henry, too. It was very inspiring and so great to meet so many other travellers. I felt quite humbled by other people's experiences.
Good to see you again at the Tenere Legend rally, Jens, hope you got to China ok.
Sindy hope you didn't get lost !!
Grant I am remembering my "leading lines" and the "rule of thirds" when taking photos!!
Hans sorry we didn't get to say tata. Tata!!
Mick hope the weather stays good for you.
Kenny hope the roads aren't too busy.
Gary we missed you at the Tenere rally, and you missed a good time.
Everyone else, Barbara, Zidy, George, Denise, Jane & Pete, and anyone else I've forgotten to mention, it was great to meet you.
We are still on the road but getting the boat to England this sunday , but as we can practically smell home from here it'll be nice to go home for a while before the next trip.

Well my first trip abroad on the bike.
What can i say, The best holiday I have ever had. ( Even if I did drop my keys and proceed to search for 3 hours when I had them all along.)
Alot of great people met at the rally and hopefully see some again at the Ripley event next month.
Dave

German Event
Hello it's Jane and Pete here. Thanks to Grant and Jens for a great event! we are back home in Derbyshire. We stayed an extra night at the sight after the event to get the boxes fitted at Touratech in Heppenheim (thanks Matthias) were worth their weight in gold, made the journey even more enjoyable (if that's possible) now looking for a top box. We missed the french rally, we were too busy playing on the Alpine passes for 2 weeks, what a fantastic time we had there. Hi to Kirsten and Henry, kenny, Dennis, Anna from switzerland, Gary and Denise, The two Andy's, Jens, Andy lloyd (hope your journey is going well, please keep us posted) and Sindy (hope you got your cards sorted at the bank, keep in touch with us) hopefully we will catch up with some of you at Ripley event. take care everyone.

HU Germany ....Thanks!!!!
Hello everyone,
Been travelling through Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and most of Germany, however, I am finding it difficult to leave the beautiful roads here in the Fatherland. Are the HU members from Canada allowed to go to the France community meeting on the 26th? Anyways, I'm proficient using a compass & map, so not getting lost, just gleeful wandering and the dough/cards are sorted. I hope to see you folks on the road somewhere.........Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
