Last Fall we had tried out our new location - and everybody loved it!
Campingplatz Pfrimmtal in Sippersfeld - what a great spot...
Ideal also for families, don´t worry - bring your kids too.
Great fire at night, nice walks through the forest or perfect motorcycle roads around, like the the famous "Johanniskreuz"!
Presenters are always welcome - Presentations in English are totally okay!
Don´t be shy - we also need some workshops too.
For example:
- First Aid
- Outdoor Cooking(Roadkill???)
- Mechanics
- GPS
- Foto?
- Movies? Like Gopros etc.
- Blogs?
Hope to see you soon - Jens and Family

Hi Jens,
I am quite keen to come to the HU meeting and was thinking even of presenting this time. I've never done it before but I might run a topic or two by you, see if it's of interest.
Thing is, my boyfriend and I set off on our travels a year ago and are currently in India, returning to Bulgaria end of March to then sort out our bikes. We've had a few problems and are thinking to return to Berlin to sort them out. If all goes to plan, we will be in Germany in May. (And then we would definitely come to the meet.)
But as nothing is completely certain now, I was wondering what the deadline is for signing up to present? After all you have to plan and schedule it all.... (And I don't want to sign up and then have to cancel.)
Let me know!
Maria

Coming from Panama... and the cost is worth it
I attended a meeting in the US in about 2005 before taking off on a trip to Ushuaia. What I learned at the meeting was WELL worth the cost. Where else could I learn to change the tire on my KLR (which I had never done) before having a blowout in the middle of nowhere! And the inspiration was incredible. Since then I've ridden from Panama to Ushuaia, then to Alaska, across Canada, and a few more trips. Long distance adventure touring has gotten into my blood.
This year I'll be spending the summer riding Europe... mostly eastern and Scandinavia. I'm really looking forward to meeting a bunch of like minded souls at the Germany meeting.
Those of you worried about a few extra euros cost for the meeting: Take up a collection from strangers, sell a farkle, give up Starbucks for a week, or whatever. Just come to the meeting. See you there!

Me and my boyfriend are really looking forward to the meeting. It will be the first time for us to visit a HUBB meeting. In case anybody has some ideas for some great routes between Switzerland and the camp ground can pm me
We will ride with our XT 660 R (me) and XT 660 Z (Martin) from Bern to the meeting and would be happy to travel on some great roads (or even better off roads) to the meeting.
Happy riding and greetings from

Hi everybody!
It'll be my first time too
Xenia lured me into taking part.
I'll be riding from Erding (near Munich) to the meeting. In case anyone has to take the same route, tell me.
Safe riding

John
There are / were apartments and mobile homes available on the camp site and contact details are shown on the original meeting details.
Sorry I'm on an iPad thing at the moment and can't work out a way to include the link but should be via first posting on this thread.

Hi John: Are you still going to this event? I thought you were heading on down to Portugal on your motorcycle. Here is the url of the camping facility where the event is taking place. Their website is in German, but you can use google translate and figure out how to reserve one of their small cabins. The cost is 19 Euro a night (as far as I can figure out).
Campingplatz Pfrimmtal | 4 Sterne Campingplatz mitten im Naturpark Pfälzer Wald
I am going to be one of the presenters. I will be telling everyone about my motorcycle trip to Alaska: Bears, Caribou, Big Horn Sheep, Bison, Etc. I am looking forward to it. If the event is half as good as the HU meeting in England it will be fantastic.

Hello,
is the registration fee for 1 person or 1 crew ( = me and my girlfriend on 1 bike, in 1 tent)?
Thanks!

I posted that up on the strange idea that I could work round my trip to Spain and Portugal as well as go to the meet. To fit in with you coming down with me. But as I see you have changed your mind. I'm back in the boat of doing it on my own. As I said in one of my post. I'm easy and can adapt by plans. I'll have to see what's what later on, as to if I go or not to Germany.

Hi.
To bad that I am not home from work at the time off the meet in may.
On the other hand I will be home for the meet in october :-)
Is the meet at the same place? Have not seen any info yet but I am sure that it will come.

Presentations in English.
This a very late reply to the question about presentations in English. My presentation about a solo trip, from the UK to Gambia and back, on a BMW 650, will certainly be I English.
Looking forward to meeting lots of new people and getting ideas for a ride to the Stans.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
