Canada West 2009?
I'm hoping to learn more about this meeting. Who is actually organising it? Is there a specific community I can contact to learn more about their possible venues? I fully intended to make the last two, but the dates conflicted. This year's dates are perfect for me, and I need to hear more before the year gets too much further along.
Thanks,
Dean

I do not see a date listed or CAN/WEST on the events calender. There Is a California date set.

The newsletter said there was a tentative date set for August 6-7 but the venue hasn't been finalised.

Grant volunteered me to organise it!
I've been having a little trouble getting the venue set up in Nakusp. I'll post here as soon as I get something together!

Thanks Ekke. If it doesn't work out you could always go back to Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground by Ainsworth...I missed that one, even though I was living in Salmo. The guy that owns the place is cool.
I've stayed in new Denver a few times, just up the road from Nakusp, and at Roseberry park between the towns.
At least you aren't conflicting with the Nakusp Music Fest on July17-19. That is a crazy busy time there.

Do you know anything about this "Motorcycle Rally For Travellers" at Toad Rock on July 31-August 2nd? Isn't that HU related?

I remember a year or two ago that the Touratech dealer in Calgary (Anderwerks at the time) organised a travellers meeting at Toad Rock. Could be the same thing?

That could be. There is an ad on the Toad Rock Campground site. Obviously, it's the weekend before your planned meeting. That kind of sucks being so close..

That is the MRT rally. MRT is like HU, except it started off in Germany, see HERE
I am not sure if TT will be involved in this.
Being so close might be a good thing. Go to the first one, spend 5 days riding/camping/fishing around BC and return for the second...

Sounds interesting. If only I spoke German.
Since I already spend my time living, riding and fishing here, it's not such a big deal. I used to live less that hour away from Toad Rock and often rode past there on my way to Ainsworth Hot Springs, just up the road, or for lunch at the Tree House restaurant in Kaslo (used to be home of the best mushroom burger in captivity).
Now I'm in the Okanagan, so it's around 3- 1/2 hours to get over there. I could attend both meetings...

Dates for Canada West 2009
The dates on the HU webpage for the meeting say July 6-9 which is a Monday through Thursday. August 6-9 is Thursday through Sunday which makes more sense. So, it would be good to get the dates straighted out on the meetings page. I went to the meeting in Merritt last year and enjoyed myself. I'm in Helena, Montana, so another HU meeting in B.C. would be good for me. Pat

I'm pretty sure it's August from our discussion in this thread, but hopefully the organisers will clear it up soon.

August!
Sorry about that, it is indeed August 6 to 9 in Nakusp, BC. I'll send Grant a note to fix the dates on the HU meeting page. Thanks for the heads up and looking forward to seeing you in Nakusp.
