Exclamation HU CanWest postponed to June 9-12, 2022

UPDATE - HU CanWest is Postponed to June 9-12, 2022!

Horizons Unlimited CanWest Travellers Meeting will be in Nakusp, BC. Super riding in the area and a very friendly town on a lovely lake. We are planning a Mini-HUMM and rideouts, plus riding skills tune-ups and challenges.

Join us for a few days of great camaraderie, good food, terrific presentations, and a community of people who don't think you're crazy for wanting to ride to the middle of nowhere.

Please see new thread for more details.

Thanks for your support and hope to see you there!

UPDATE:
We know you are wondering whether Horizons Unlimited events are going ahead as planned, and how that may affect your own travel decisions. Your health and well-being are our top priorities, so please take care of yourself and your family.

We are working with our local organising teams and event venues, and monitoring regional and global developments, including travel bans and restrictions on events. Decisions will be made together with the local organising team and announced as far in advance as possible.

This event is currently going ahead as planned.

This may change at any moment, so stay in touch through the HUBB forum or social media. We will be providing updates on the 1st and 15th of every month, OR as needed. Stay updated here: https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/covid

Please direct your questions to: events-c@horizonsunlimited.com

Or post general comments of interest to the event on this thread.

We will send emails announcing changes only to everyone already registered for an event with all needed details.

Thanks for your understanding in this difficult time.

virtual hugs from Grant and Susan and all the HU family

Exclamation HU CanWest POSTPONED to Aug 27-30, 2020

HU CanWest POSTPONED to Aug 27-30, 2020.

UPDATE as of Apr 25 - We are working with our local organising teams and event venues, and monitoring regional and global developments, including travel bans and restrictions on events. We're hopeful that BC may reopen some activities soon, but restrictions on events like HU CanWest are likely to remain for some months yet.

We are also aware that the HU demographic skews a wee bit older, and our deepest wish is that your well-being remains intact. We also are very aware that the small communities our events are held in have very limited medical resources, and we don't want to bring the virus to them with a large group of people from all over the world.

This event is currently going ahead, BUT we have postponed to Aug 27-30. THIS MAY CHANGE, SO STAY IN TOUCH THROUGH THE HUBB FORUM OR SOCIAL MEDIA. We will be providing updates on the 1st and 15th of every month, OR as needed.

We appreciate that some of you will have made travel arrangements and incurred other costs, and we hope that you can change those plans.

If you want to keep your registration to the new date, we will carry it forward for you. No need to do anything. Carrying your registration forward will help us out a LOT. Thanks!

If you need a refund, we will provide it as soon as possible, but please be patient. For refunds, PLEASE REPLY to your original Registration Confirmation email to make it easier for us to find.

Thanks for your understanding in this difficult time. Please continue to listen to and follow the advice of your local and national health authorities. Stay healthy so that we can all catch up later.

Remember that worrying does lower your immune system, so don't binge on news. (yes we struggle with that one too!) And most importantly - take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Virtual hugs from Grant and Susan and all the HU family

Exclamation HU CanWest POSTPONED to July 22-25 2021

Hi everyone,

We were hoping to not have to do this. Since April, our fingers have been firmly crossed that a few months of sacrifices would allow us all to get back to 'normal'.

However, while BC is cautiously reopening to residents and visitors, and is now officially in Phase 3, the maximum number of attendees at an indoor event is 50, according to the 'Mass Gatherings Order' of the Provincial Health Officer. Larger events aren't expected to be allowed until we enter Phase 4, and there is no date announced as yet for Phase 4, but it won't be soon for sure.

We are also aware that the HU demographic skews a wee bit older, and our deepest wish is that your well-being remains intact. Finally, we are very aware that the small communities our events are held in have very limited medical resources, and we don't want to bring the virus to them with a large group of people from all over the world.

After discussing with our local organizers and the Nakusp town and campground, we've reluctantly concluded it's not possible to hold the event this year.

Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to POSTPONE HU CanWest to July 22-25 2021. The Team is eager to welcome you back NEXT year!

We appreciate that some of you will have made travel arrangements and incurred other costs, and we hope that you can change those plans.

If you want to keep your registration to the new date, we will carry it forward for you. No need to do anything. Many of you will be aware that the income from events helps to fund the website hosting and other fixed costs of keeping Horizons Unlimited going. Carrying your registration forward will help us out a LOT. Thanks!

For refunds, PLEASE REPLY to your original Registration Confirmation email to make it easier for us to find, or if you can't do that, please email a request to: events-c ((a)) horizonsunlimited.com.

Thanks for your understanding in this difficult time. Positive outcomes grow from staying true to what makes the global HU community special: inspiration, information, and connection through shared experiences, tolerance, and mutual kindness. Please continue to listen to and follow the advice of your local health authorities. Stay healthy so that we can all catch up later.

Enjoy the summer, ride out and find adventures in your own backyard! Take lots of pics and plan to tell some new local stories at HU CanWest 2021.

This is what Grant will be doing, exploring BC:

Virtual hugs from Grant and Susan at HU, Ekke and Audrey and their team at CanWest, and all the HU family,

New to Horizons Unlimited?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
