HU Virginia Apr 24-27 2025
25 Years of Adventure at Horizons Unlimited Events worldwide!
Registration opens soon with early bird rates!
April 24-27, 2025, Appomattox, Virginia
We're thrilled to invite you to be part of a truly special milestone: celebrating 25 years of Horizons Unlimited adventure, discovery and community.
It's All About Overland Adventure: Whether you're a seasoned veteran with wisdom to share or a complete novice hungry for ideas and guidance, it doesn't matter if you ride a motorcycle, a bicycle, or drive an expedition vehicle...
Horizons Unlimited meetings are for everyone who dreams of adventure along the road less travelled. This 25th anniversary is about celebrating journeys, lessons, and unforgettable moments that shape us as travelers.
If you've just discovered HU, you may be wondering why you should come to a meeting - In Real Life! Some people appreciate Horizons Unlimited events for the inspiration and information from the unique line-up of presenters and exhibitors. Some people value just kicking back with a among old friends and new.
Most people enjoy a little bit of everything, and everyone goes home fired-up for adventure with a smile on their face.
The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, creating a relaxed space where connections are made, and passions are shared.
Open call for submissions: We want your travel stories, technical demos, and practical how-to sessions. We're all here to learn from each other. Not every presenter has a 'round the world trip' to share. We also welcome those who enjoy sharing knowledge and skills relevant to adventure motorcycle travel and overlanding. Are you a 'gear geek' for camping? An outdoor gourmet? Do you have a great approach to roadside breakdowns and repairs? Remember what it was like to be a novice... do you have some skills and tips that would help new members of the community feel a little bit more comfortable taking their first road trip or moto-camping adventure? We want to hear from you! Presenters register here: https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/events/presenter

Come to Virginia!
I want to second Susan's invitation to Horizons Unlimited Virginia Travellers Meeting. We've been holding this event for ten years now, and we'd love to have you be a part of our second decade!
We've got a lovely weekend home at Holiday Lake 4-H Camp, where the staff treats us like family, feeds us like guests, and bends over backwards to help us run a great event.
We always have a wonderful roster of presenters -- over the years, we've hosted Elspeth Beard, Sam Manicom, David & Emy Woodburn, Greg & Melanie Turp, Alex Chacon, Dylan Wickrama, and many others. We'd love to have you give a presentation, whether you're a 'round the world veteran or someone just heading out on your first adventure. Linda Pearce (linda@horizonsunlimited.com), my presentations coordinator, or I (steve@horizonsunlimited.com) will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
We've even got Tom Asher providing highly-regarded and affordable off-road training on Friday and Saturday. You must be registered for HU Virginia to take the training, and it requires a separate signup and payment when you register.
If you have some time and are so inclined, we can always use volunteers, too. We can always use people with technical skills -- computers, a/v equipment, e.g. -- or even just help cleaning up on Sunday morning. If you've got the time, we'll find the job!
So mark your calendars for the last weekend in April and join us in scenic and historic Appomattox County, Virginia. Sign up now!

New to Horizons Unlimited?
New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
