Indonesia: Oct 11-14?
From the side bar I see "Indonesia: Oct 11-14". Is this date set? any further information coming? My current plans are to be in mid Thailand by the 5th of October, (that date is set), so with some quick riding and smooth border crossings I could make it. Would be a great way to end three months on the road.
To make this work I would like to find a place near by to store my bike for about 8 months. Have been traveling the world on what I call the "installment plan" for ten years. I ride a ways, find somewhere to park the bike while I go back to work, family and normal life. Then I escape again and ride farther on. So anyone know of options for a place to store my bike in Indonesia? Or do I need to plan on riding back up to Malaysia.
Bob

Date is firm, the information page is posted but NOT COMPLETE - more to come as we put it together. Registration is NOT open yet, but soon.
Can't help on the storage of the bi9ke, sorry, but perhaps our Indonesia organizer Jeffrey Polnaja can. I'll let him know to check this post.
Susan and I WILL be there! We're looking forward to meeting up with everyone in Indonesia!

Thanks Jeffrey

Would be wonderful if I could find a place to store bike, would eliminate major stress point and let me focus on planing the ride. Will start in Italy, through the Stans, hopefully some time in Mongolia, then south trough China, Laos, Thailand.
I accept all liability for the bike while in storage so friendly person who might let me store bike need not worry about that. Commercial storage would also work.
Will help as I can at the HU gathering. Can do a number of different presentations, just let me know what will fit.

Hi Bob,
Look alike that you will have a great journey.
Yes, you have a place to store you bike in BANDUNG, around 120 km south of HU Indonesia venue. The storage is free. Would be better if you have an automatic battery charger to keep your battery in a good performance.
Ofcourse you are welcome to give any presentation, just register at :

Looking forward to see you here
Have a safe trip,

Thank you very much, that is a load off my mind and now I can put the plan together to get there.
Plan now is to be in Bangkok Thailand the 5th of October so it will be a quick ride to the HU event.
Will keep you up to date if anything changes.
Will see if I can recruit a few more from our China group to extend and come to the HU gathering.
Thanks again
Bob

I am in Port Klang, waiting for ferry Monday morning. As long as I don't hit any snags I should make it by the 11th. couple quick questions.
Where from and how often does the ferry depart from in Sumatra to get to Java?
Anyone have the GPS coordinates for the H U gathering?

hope to see you there!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
