Good onya Geoff! I always wonder if anyone actually goes away and does it...
And great to hear you enjoyed the meeting - we had a blast too!
See you next year, if not sooner!

You bring the sunshine again Tiff and I'll make good on my ice cream promise
Enjoy your journey home - good to see you again if all too briefly as ever.
A big thanks to all for a great event.
Special thanks to Daniel and his delightful family for really getting into the spirit of the event and for their refreshing company and invaluable assistance down at Roadkill HQ. It was great to have you there and I hope we'll have the pleasure again next year.
Another big thanks to Si who also played a big part in making sure Danny didn't end up doing all the work this year and who was also head chef in charge of the game stew.
On a personal note, I didn't do half as much this year as I had hoped due to life getting in the way - but next year there are some plans for some new demonstrations at the Roadkill. Some were due this year and didn't happen (sorry) and others might come courtesy of a new found volunteer who shall remain nameless for now (just in case he can't make it next year!) - but you know who you are, and thanks for showing me cordage techniques with nettles
Oh, and there will be ice cream...

The postman rang the doorbell yesterday - 'Sam I have a parcel for you.' And so he did.
Grant and Susan have very kindly forwarded a goodie box on to Birgs and I. Inside were a T-shirt each for us, an HU Cap, a copy of Simon Roberts brilliant new book 'Tea with Bin Laden's Brother' and a huge card.
The get well card has been signed by so many people that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Thank you very much to everyone who has signed the card, for your best wishes, and also to everyone who has phoned or emailed to wish us well, and to say what a brilliant time they had at HU 2010 Ripley. I'm delighted it went off so well.
A lot of that is down to all the people who volunteered to help out. We had an amazing crew again this year and you guys do so much to make the Meet run smoothly. You guys do so much to set the mood and atmosphere of the Meet. Thank you all!
See you next year I hope, if not before.
Cheers,
Sam

HU Support for Motorcycle Outreach
Dear all,
I write to say that Barbara and I have now counted up the donations to Motorcycle Outreach from the Travellers Meeting at Lumb Farm and they total £877.12. Together with the £506 from the Enniskillen rally, that makes a grand total of £1,383.12.
On behalf of the Trustees and Directors of Motorcycle Outreach, we’d like to pass on our thanks to all those at both meetings who bought raffle tickets and stickers and helped us raise that impressive amount for Motorcycle Outreach.
We are very grateful for every donation that we receive; because we work directly with local health services, even a little goes a very long way with us, quite literally! £10 will cover the cost of ten healthcare visits by motorcycle to remote villages on the island of Flores in Indonesia, and in each village up to 1,000 people will thus have access to healthcare, medical advice and health education which they would otherwise be denied, due to the difficulty in reaching the remote locations by any other method than by motorcycle.
Anyone wanting to see where the money is spent need only click on http://www.motorcycleoutreach.org/Testimonials.html where there are several stories dictated directly by grateful people who have been helped by Health for All, the project that we support on Flores. Health for All ensure that a small fleet of motorcycles are maintained and made available for use by local doctors, nurses, midwives and other healthcare workers to enable them to get to outlying villages beyond the reach of other means of transport.
And really it is on behalf of those people, in Flores, that we write to thank Horizons Unlimited for your continuing support of Motorcycle Outreach, and to thank each and every one of those HU travellers who came to the Meetings and made a donation.
Our best regards

Enjoyed it whilst been drained of energy.
I video'd Austins gig, got his permission but he added 'not to go on youtube' ..I've a Vimeo account so everything is okay.
However 45minutes might be pushing my luck for an upload

I missed it so I'd love a chance to see it. Break it up into 10min segments, upload and post the link for it here. Cheers.

It would be interesting but I think not.
RTW X-Challenge Adventurization - Page 47 - ADVrider
He is prepping the X-challenge again but my gut feeling says it won't be Siberia. Personally I suspect Mexico or South America. Just a hunch.

New to Horizons Unlimited?
New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
