A suggestion for HUBB UK 2018
After attending a couple of HUBB meets and getting lots of people wandering up to me to ask about my kit etc I came up with an idea. How about a dedicated camping display where experienced travelers or people with ingenious solutions/gadgets can show their solutions to people. We could call it "Get your kit out" or something similar. I think it would be a good way of sharing knowledge amongst the community. Perhaps offer a small reduction for people willing to display to encourage participation.

Not a bad idea,
I tend to find walking around the campsite and chatting to people about their bikes and kits tends to work the same way.
However, I'm sure a lot is missed..

When I found I'd forgotten to bring tent pegs at this years HUBB and had to use twigs from the hedge to keep my tent up all I got was laughter when people spotted them. Still, if there's a reduction I'd be happy to forget them again next year ....
As Ted says though, not a bad idea. I've met so many new people at HUBB, Overland etc meets by just wandering up and asking them about some aspect of their tent or bike but often people are not around or you don't want to disturb them.
Exactly how you'd choose who's in / who's out would be tricky as often some of the most ingenious setups belong to people who are just happy to be there and may not want to be the centre of attention.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
