Possibly

Rossi, could you put me down as a maybe? I wont know until the beginning of February whether or not I will be able to get the time off? I also understand Ted will be in India where the climate is more suitable to his delicate condition.

Thanks
GM

Update

For the Friday, I will warn Marcia at the pub that there might be a few extra bodies for food, but not book tables, as people will be arriving at different times. I can always hook a laptop to the tv and cram a few in the lounge for a presentation.

It looks like we can have exclusive use of the restaurant at the pub for the Saturday night. This means that we can all have a meal and do any presentations in the same place, with Doom Bar on tap

Advance warning if you are considering joining the trail ride. While we all made it round last year, those with more road biased trail tyres did find it a bit tricky in places. I'm not sure which way I will go this year but I wouldn't expect conditions to be much different. If you're going shopping for tyres in the next few weeks I would strongly recommend something with a bit of bite. Tyre combo of choice locally is an enduro front and MT43 trials rear. While the MT43 is OK on the road and can last over 2k miles an enduro front isn't / won't. Good compromises would be something like pirelli mt21's, mitas E-09's or at a push a set of tkc80's, personally I like the E-09's. I also have rimlocks on my bike so I can drop the pressures right down for off road although these are not essential.

Could you put me down as a provisional yes? My wife has severe ME which makes planning ahead a bit difficult as I wouldn't want to leave her if she's bed-bound for the weekend.

Cornwall

Hi Rossi

Chris and I would love to come - possibly on the outfit again.

As for time, either a bit earlier or a bit later would suit us as it's the Classic bike show on the 18/19th Feb and we're aiming to go to the Elefantreffen at the Nurburgring the following weekend (25th/26th).

Hi Rich

Thanks for your message - but the HUBB won't let me respond until I have 5 posts - this should be number 5!

Hope to catch up in Cornwall - and congrats on making it to Mongolia. Can't wait to hear all about it. How about doing a talk???

John and Chris.

After my new year resolution of putting anything and everything ahead of work, The thought of travelling down to Cornwall is a great idea!

If you still have the room for one little bike ( G650GS ) and one not so little bloke, I would like to come down for several s and what-not.

I should be back from work by 4. With a bit of luck Mark (maddog) who lives down the hill will get away from work earlier and will get the tea brewing. We'll get a couple of signs out but it is easier to find than last year.

From north of exeter the A30 to Launceston is quickest but the last 10 miles are narrow and twisty; fun in daylight but tricky in the dark with a weak headlamp. The alternative route is via the A38 past Plymouth, turning off at Liskeard. For anyone from down west take the A38 along the Glyn Valley and turn off at the top of the hill past Trago.

Destination is Minions. Look for the brown tourist "hurlers" signs. You'll find me from the car park.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
