Look Up

Hi Graham, Scroll up to Trip Paparwork and the first "sticky" thread says it all. You are definitely NOT the Messiah, you are a very naughty boy: This is the wrong section for this question. As punishment you are required to produce the best illustrated trip report HUBB has ever seen when you complete your trip. Linzi.

Yes, just SORN the bike. However, if you are away for over a year then you will have to make sure someone picks up your mail and renews your SORN for when it comes in the following year. Likewise, you don't need to have a current MOT while riding abroad.

SORN the bike. And then, when you come back, buy insurance over the internet before getting in the UK (if your number plate is still british which I assume would be).

Also ensure you have booked with a garage for an MOT which gives you the righ to ride your bike to the garage without tax or MOT, jsut in case you get stopped or a camera catch your number plate and check the DVLA database. Get home. Reschedule the MOT... that's all.

I think this has been covered and the DVLA are cool with it as long as you let them know, I think that's how it ended ?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
