Ripley 2008

Hi all just got back from the meet, wet all the way, wouldn't be the same if it wasn't.

Just a quick post to say thanks to all the organizers, presenters and helpers at this years meet, a sterling job as always.

It was great to catch up with old friends and make some new one's. So be safe everyone and will see you on the road or at a meet somewhere.

Some brilliant meetings and it was great to meet up with people id met on the road in South America..

Problem is, now i've got a seed planted for a Liverpool to Capetown trip in 2 years...

It starts again......................

Yeah, thanks all!!!

A great weekend, friday weather was superb - went on the off road outing (if anyone has any pics, PM me) which was great.

Thanks to all the organisers, presenters and trip leaders.

Best wishes to the rider who got hit.

jim (and almost certainly jasper as well)

Me to. This was my first HUM but I'm back next year. I loved the atmosphere of the meet, the laid back but efficient organisation, the presentations, people and the location. Many many thanks to all who contributed to the weekend.

I had a scary time getting of the camping field (wet grass and road tyres don't get on to well) but managed OK, then endured rain all the way back to Northumberland where the sun was shining

Once again, many thanks to all involved for a fantastic weekend.

Regards,

Glenn

I would like to agree with all the comments, this was my first HU meeting and I was very impressed with the organisation

A big thanks to all the people that made this a great weekend, and cheers to the new friends that made the event so enjoyable.

I have unpacked and put my dirty stuff, in the wash, and have started getting clean stuff together for my next weekend in Kelso

Some day soon I will be going a little further :-)

Seconded!

Definitely - a top-notch weekend!

T'was my first HU meeting and the ever-present urge to plan the next big trip was seriously encouraged by your stories and photos. Thanks to all the presenters, HUBBers, and above all Grant and Susan for making this a weekend to remember. Oh - Austin and Jasper - haven't laughed that hard in ages, thank you.

Bionic Adventure Biker

Howdy,

I'm the Jim from jaspers presentation (Martin Scorsese to his Marlon Brando, if you like .

Anyway, I've stitched the videos together with a few slides from his actual presentation and bunged them on youtube - 18 mins in total.

Part 1 - YouTube - Building the Bionic Adventure Biker - Part 1
Part 2 - YouTube - Building the Bionic Adventure Biker - Part 2

Enjoy,

jim (and probably jasper as well)

Great weekend, and my 30 year old tent is still waterproof

Met lots of new friends and caught up with some I met last year.

The presentations were great, with some amazing photos and tales of adventure, even if the "Road Kill" got a bit too real for some

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
