Front mudguard installation KLE
Hello everybody,

Just wanted to inform you that I have successfully installed front mudguard on KLE.it took me sometime to thing of best way to install it
Was not easy but not difficult as well . Bigger problem is try to install it and elimanate vibrations and this is why someone has to thing of 2 connection
points. I will try my best to describe what I did.

Mudguard acerbis universal.

Measure On top of the mudguard and diy a plate 8X9cm ,best to use aluminium plate 2-3mm thick .Use the holes already on mudguard ( 5 )as a guide, mark and drill holes on plate.
Then connect the plate to the mudguard using a rubber between plate and mudguard of 3-4mm.Use 4 bolts and nuts .5TH hole in the centre of the plate
Will be used to connect on raw bolt(see below)


1st connection point using the hole under low yoke .Use a raw bolt (iron) 19mm.Hole is 20mm.Rowbolt is same used for installations on concrete
In building industry then insert raw bolt in the hole .This can be connected on the plate installed on mudguard .Adjust the height of mudguard so it will be easily move between the radiator cover and headlight fearing and then tight the row bolt just to keep mudguard steady.Raw bolt will expand and will be tight enough but don’t expect
To be solid. For this reason you can rap it with a thin rubber and its better if you can find 18mm raw bolt in this case.



Do not tight the raw bolt yet this will be done when 2Nd point will be ready.


2ND connection point is the small plate on the low yoke used as a guide for speed meter cable. Unscrew and use something like an upside down T
Similar to what I have use below from an old car steering stabilizer I had you can diy by aluminium as its easy to work with and adjust .Use a bigger
Bolt and screw both plate below and guide for speed meter on low yoke.








Remember to use rubber between above item and mudguard. Mark drilling point on mudguard,remove it, drill and then install on bike and that’s it.
The raw bolt will expand but don’t try to hard this will destroy raw bolt .Its strong enough with not much effort.

Pls use your imagination as well because my English are not perfect and even worst I didnt take any photos.

I fitted a black polisport unviversal mudguard on my pale silver '05 KLE and I reckon it looks the biz...and (cough) mud doesn't get caught in the mudguard any more. That was a big problem.

I didn't bother making a plate. I just drilled a hole in the mudguard and put a 16mm rawlbolt through it. I covered the bolt with a finger from a heavy duty rubber glove.

I used a bracket like TREKGS suggested, but mine was L shaped because the shape of the Polisport mudguard wouldn't accomodate a T.

Mudguard has been on the bike about a week now and it's rock solid, but I can hear a tiny vibration...

It is a cheap mod that makes a big change to the appearance of the bike, but I don't think the Polisport is the best one to use because the top of the mudguard has too many contours and no pre-drilled holes.

just wondering how the handling is affected with no fork brace?

not the best pics i had to unbend a few parts (brake pedal, peg mount and twisted forks) after an off while testing it




will get some better pics soon hopefully with the tkc80's i've ordered mounted on my 2nd set of wheels

Leave the brace where it is. Handling is the same.
